Getting Married in New Zealand

One of the great things about getting married in New Zealand is that you can get married anywhere (not just in a church or registry office), which is why we are able to offer our range of spectacular locations in which to get married.

There are also no restrictions on where you live. You can get married in New Zealand regardless of whether you live in New Zealand or overseas, and your marriage will in most cases be recognised in your own country.

To legally marry in New Zealand you will need to apply for a New Zealand Marriage Licence, your wedding will need to be conducted by a registered wedding celebrant and you will need two witnesses to sign the official forms during, or shortly after, your wedding ceremony.

New Zealand Wedding Packages will ensure all the legal requirements of your wedding are met and will apply for your marriage license on your behalf. Your wedding will be conducted by a registered celebrant and team members will be able to be your witnesses. After your wedding we will also apply for an official Marriage Certificate on your behalf, which you can then use as evidence of your wedding. All the costs of this are covered in your package fee.

In some countries you may require an Apostille certificate in order for your Marriage Certificate to be accepted. We can help guide you through the application process if required.
